Report for Week Ending Saturday 26.10.2019

The clash of the day was the top versus second game, as the Ramsey & Mistley 1st team entertained the unbeaten League leaders Sporting Rebels, and it was the hosts Ramsey that ended the League leaders unbeaten run; winning by a convincing 5-1 score line .On the Ramsey scoresheet were Chris Stratton with a hat trick and efforts from Ton Farthing and Ben Allington. Tommy Lee Morgan netted the Sporting consolation effort. This Ramsey victory now takes them to the pinnacle of the League by virtue of having scored more goals than Sporting although they have played one game more. The other unbeaten side Oyster Reserves, who were fourth, were also at home against visiting sixth placed Stoke by Nayland, and handed out a 6-0 thrashing to Stoke by Nayland and now become the only unbeaten side in the League. Oyster were leading 3-0 at the break with goals from Jack Eaglestone, Aaron Perkins and an Ashley Jackson penalty before Dominic Mosses rounded it off with a second half hat trick, one of which was another penalty.

Abbey Fields in third took on mid table Parkeston Welfare Park, and it was Abbey Fields who emerged with another convincing win, 7-0. On their scoresheet was Donell Henry and Peter Harvey with doubles apiece and Bernie Goldsmith. Rhys Callely and Joe Durbridge with the other three. Langham Lodgers in fifth were due to visit Mersea Island Reserves, but saw their game postponed on Friday night as their hosts were unable to field a side.

The other game saw the bottom side Tollesbury Reserves entertain the team just two points above them, Tiptree Engaine ‘A’. It was the visitors that left with the points however after their 5-1 victory. Tiptree in fact netted all of the goals in this match as the Tollesbury effort was an own goal.
