Report for Week Ending Saturday 14.12.2019


Only two games were played this week due to the weather.


Leaders, Oyster Reserves visited Ramsey & Mistley Reserves in a game played at Furze Hills, Mistley as the Ramsey home War Memorial pitch was unplayable. It was 1-1 at the break, before the home side rattled in four goals in the second period to the one from Oyster to earn themselves a 5-2 victory and pick up a very welcome three points; whilst in the process hand the League leaders a first league defeat. On target for Oyster were Aaron Perkins and Daniel Rampton with a penalty. On target for Ramsey were Gary Merchant with a brace plus efforts from Peter Wilson, Daniel Clarke and Jimmy Morrison.


Fourth placed Abbey Fields visited mid table Tiptree Engaine ‘A’, and here again it was the home side that was victorious, winning with a 2-0 score line with goals from Eduardo Cardona Alvarez and Scott Harvey after leading 1-0 at the break.


The Stoke by Nayland versus Mersea Island Reserves game was called off on the Thursday whilst third from bottom Parkeston Welfare Park saw their game against the team just below them Tollesbury Reserves, postponed on the Friday morning as the Welfare Park pitch was also waterlogged and unplayable,
