Inclement Weather

ACTION REGARDING UNFIT OR SUSPECT GROUNDS



(1) It is the responsibility of the Home Team to ensure their ground (private or otherwise) is fit for play. if not the game “MUST BE REVERSED”

(2) Consideration must be given to the travel arrangements of the Away Team and the match

Referee has agreed at confirmation time.

(3) Referees must also be considered and if there is any doubt about the ground being fit to play

The match the Referee must be advised as soon as possible and arrangements made with him.

(a) An early pitch inspection. Which should be early enough preferably within two hours of the game to avoid opponents and Referee Travelling should be arranged

(b) A late contact point just prior to him travelling.

(4) Having found it necessary to have the ground inspected



Clubs MUST:

(a) Advise the match referee and invite him to inspect the ground.

(b) Should the match referee agree that another local referee may inspect the ground, the Club MUST call in a referee on the Warrington & District League Referees’ panel, or with the consent of the referees Secretary a registered referee from outside the competition, who must not be associated in any way with the either club.

(5) If a referee declares the ground is unfit - his signature should be obtained on a team sheet confirming the same. And “ALL” parties including the Appointed Match Referee; Fixtures Secretaries, Referee’s Secretaries & Ground Liaison Officer should be immediately advised.



(6) Referees who carry out these duties are entitled to expenses of £10 only.





(7) If for any reason a Home Club finds out too late to stop opponents or Referee from travelling it is essential that Members/Officials of the Home Team are at the ground to meet them. If circumstances such as this do happen a full written explanation must be sent by both Home and Away Clubs to the League Secretary.
