FC BATH UNITED LAND CUP WIN IN GOAL LADEN MATCH

FC Bath United claimed their first silverware, winning the Secretary’s Cup in a 10-goal thriller with Division Three rivals Claverton Park.

Bath raced into a three-goal lead within 23 minutes with a Jack Rowlands brace either side of Reece Longhurst’s header, but by the half hour Claverton got it back to 3-2 when James Sellick nodded in and Pete Collins rifled home.

Rowlands completed his hat-trick just before half-time and notched a fourth within five minutes of the restart with a tremendous lob over the stranded Simon Hyden.

Damon King rounded the Park stopper to slot in Bath’s sixth, before another Damon, Robinson, tapped in a third for Claverton after Matthew Opie’s free-kick was spilled by Luke Farrow.

Nathan McKinnon’s close-range finish for Bath soon afterwards completed the scoring in a breathless encounter.
