(12-Oct-13) vs Rushmoor Saints Rascals (A) 1-1

I think we call this Saturday “the one that got away”. The two teams were very evenly matched in the end and there was a lot of decent football played by both sides. They were a rugged side (but not overly so) and after a period of our boys coming over a bit Mavis Riley the shoulder charges became equal in number and slowly we began to get the upper hand. A fantastic free kick from Charlie Morris had us leading, Noah put in a few of his Peter Lorimer efforts (one for the older Dads, there) and our defensive line held well against their forward line. They were creeping over the offside line so much I had to start paying attention (much to the chagrin of their supporters). Ryan and Rowan did well again blending into the team, Ryan getting an assist, and well done to Charlie (again) for the Man of the Match performance (and well done Jack for the Trainer of the Week award).
