Man Of The Match: Rowan

(30-Nov-13) vs CSA-07 Rangers (H): 2-1

Games against CSA are always challenging and this one was no different. They play with an old-fashioned physicality that takes you back to the days of Nat Lofthouse and Tom Finney, when it was quite acceptable to bayonet charge a goalkeeper going for a high ball, as it was a game of firm handshakes and Brylcreem.

The Harriers were prepared to meet the physical challenge and took the lead through some intricate interchange work between Max I and Noah with Noah adding to his impressive total with an excellent finish. However, CSA managed to squeeze home an equaliser and things became tense as they kept counter-attacking with renewed vigour.

Last week we scored a few goals from the use of the width of the pitch and the winner came from that route. Initially Rowan played a beautiful ball out to Joe and Joe’s cross was spot on for Noah to sweep home. It was like watching 1970s Holland without all the arguments.
Once again Oscar put himself on the line with some very brave keeping and the defensive line of Ollie, Max S-T and Euan held firm. Jack played some wonderful football on the wing and showed a brilliant first touch. Ryan used his height very effectively and was very unlucky not to score again. Charlie Morris played his usual excellent game and was a constant source of threat.

Well done to Rowan for his Man of the Match performance – that ball played through for the winner was remarkable, and well done Jack for Trainer of the Week ( it really showed in his first touch ).

All told an excellent performance and result.
