Click here to read about several statistical goings-on associated with today's CCB v Park Road game...
Christ Church Beckenham today celebrated their 300th game in the 'FA Era', ie since affiliation in 1994 when records were first properly taken. In this time, which has seen the team move from Division 1 pacesetters to rather more sedate goings-on in Div 3, the team have won 91 games, drawn 46 and lost 163. The Yellows have scored 616 goals and conceded 891.
Captaining the CCB side today was Pete Cornish, who having played in 222 of these games is the most-capped CCB player on record. Jon Turnbull led the line upfront and although he didn't score today, his 122 goals make him easily the top scorer on record.
It was quite apt that the game was against Park Road, who CCB have now faced 13 times and always in great spirit- only Oakhall (14), UCF Reserves (15) and Penge (17) have faced the Yellows more. Although alas, this was the third CCB v Park Road game to end with a broken player on the way to hospital...!
There were several other personal milestones set in today's game. James Wickham played his 184th game which takes him past Keri Davies into second behind Cornish in the appearance charts. Pacy winger David Gee became the first CCB player in history to start 25 consecutive games. And team manager Sam Oliver was playing in his 50th consecutive match (45 starts 5 sub)- again a record- in fact the second longest run of appearances is held by Gee for his current run of 25!
