Following the enforced break through the weather, the National Blind League returned to football action at the weekend.

Although there were some close and entertaining games, Sporting Club Albion showed they will be a force to be feared as the second part of the season got under way.

Leading the charge was Darren Harris. Whilst he has retired from International football he showed he had not lost his shooting boots helping himself to 9 goals as his team won all their four games.

They were challenged all the way by RNC who are now becoming a difficult team to score against and with Dan English finding his shooting prowess could well be in the mix at the end of the season with Albion and Worcester, who for once had a mixed fortunes.

It was good to see an ex-international in Darren Cook returning to play with Leicester but his day came to an abrupt end when he suffered an unfortunate ankle injury. No doubt when he returns he will give good support and confidence to the “new” Leicester team.

Everton also found the going a little tough this time but they will come back strong.

Middlesex & Home Counties are now starting to show good development in the Squad and will continue to improve as the season progresses. One new player for them, Michael Smith showed very good potential for the future.
