Process to request postponement of fixtures for COVID reasons has been removed

Following the changes to the Government of Jersey COVID-19 isolation policy on 29 April 2022 and the significant fall in requests to postpone matches, the Association has removed the procedures to request a postponement of a match for COVID reasons, with immediate effect.

The health and safety of players, spectators, club and match officials is of the highest priority and the Association will continue to monitor Public Health advice during 2022.

I have taken the opportunity to remind clubs of the current process for requesting a postponement of a fixture:

U11, U12, U13 & U14 Group Matches:

• The relevant Club should touch base with the opposition to seek agreement to postpone/amend the match and agree details of the re-arrangement (KO Time, Date and Venue). This should be no later than 5 days before the fixture is due to be played.
• Please send these details in writing, along with a rationale, to competitions@jerseyfa.com.
• Assuming the Competition agrees to the postponement, Full-Time / Matchday App will be updated and subject to availability a Referee will be allocated.

U15, U16, U18, Open Age + O35s League Matches and All Cups (All Age Groups):

• The relevant Club should contact competitions@jerseyfa.com with details of the affected fixture and the rationale to support the fixture postponement or amendment. This should be no later than 5 days before the fixture is due to be played.
• Assuming the Competition excepts the rationale, agreement with the opposition club must be sought prior to any postponement or change being finalised.

Please note that the Competition would not normally take into account players that are injured, ill or unavailable for alternative reasons. There is a separate process for any school/education trips.

If the Club Secretary is not making the request, they must be copied into any communication, otherwise the request will be rejected.
