Here is the latest update, the ECWFL committee would like views of registered ECWFL players (via club secretaries)

As you know the Government's Roadmap out of Lockdown has stated that grassroots football can restart from 29th March (unless this is delayed due to concerns over rising figures).

We have now received confirmation from the FA that County Leagues are permitted to decide how they conclude their respective seasons. The League Committee held a meeting last night which was also attended by representatives from ECFA. To assist us with the final decision we are consulting with clubs to assess the situation and feelings of all involved including players.

I, therefore, require answers to the following questions;

1. Is it your wish that we resume league fixtures from 11th April 2021 ?
Note that this would mean 15 teams would have to play four or more double-headers (two matches of 30 minutes each way played back to back). Also bear in mind player availability, pitch availability, possible fixture cancellations due to pitch conditions or Covid outbreaks/restrictions.

2. Is your pitch still available and could it be used until the end of June ? Would you be prepared to play until the end of June ?
The FA have advised that we could extend the season until the end of June. Is your pitch available until then and, if so, could delayed regeneration work cause a delay at the start of next season ? How many other teams will be needing to use it too ?

3. Would you rather the League declare the season null and void and organise a Champions League style mini competition instead of league fixtures ?
Clubs could opt out of this if they would rather just play friendlies.

4. Have you consulted your players on all of the above ?
You must consult with your players to see how they feel and what their commitment level now is. Have they been affected by Covid ? How are they feeling after another long break from football ? Ask them, don't make decisions on their behalf.

I would be grateful if you could all respond to me no later than Monday 22nd March with your answers to all of the above questions. I will only accept responses via the Club Secretaries.
Once received these will be considered by the Committee early next week and our recommendations/proposals will be emailed to all clubs. You will then have seven days to vote (this will be a SGM held via email).

I look forward to hearing from you all.
