Wellstead Wanderers was formed in 1999 by Matt Cordery, with the main aim of keeping existing friendships together from schooldays and from a previous football club, Digital Line FC. In fact, we still boast over a dozen players who started out in our first season.

On the field, we haven't really enjoyed too much success until last season. Having spent three years in the Corinthian Sunday League (the first two in division two, the latter in the first division), we have yet to win a trophy, finishing third in every season and only being able to reach the semi final of the league cup. With our place established in the Essex Corinthian League Division One, we hope to be able to achieve our first trophy success that our perseverance and determination deserves.

Off the field, the team have enjoyed weekend breaks in Brighton, Nottingham & Skegness(!) as well as summer holidays in Tenerife and Kavos - Obviously
just for team morale you understand!
