Sunday League Report ? 17/02/08

Perth Green gained revenge for an earlier defeat this season when they came out on top 3-1 against Ellison FC. Perth Green had keeper Jak Wells to thank in the early stages as he pulled off three excellent saves while the game was still goal less. Then, against the run of play, in a five minute spell midway through the first half Perth Green found themselves two goals ahead with strikes from Paul Brown and Paul Gallant. Ellison continued to press and Stuart Lane pulled one back for them right on half time. Ellison continued to dominate play in the second half but were unable to find the net. Sensing victory Perth Green had a dominant spell themselves in the last quarter, which resulted in Paul Brown sealing the 3-1 victory with his second of the game.

Two teams at the wrong end of the Premier league met on Sunday as Pac Builders took on Fad Continentals. Fad took the lead when a well worked corner led to Ian Moore firing home. Both teams had chances but no further goals were scored in the first half. Pac got back into it in the second half when an excellent piece of individual skill from Dean Gardiner allowed him to get the equaliser. The Fad restored their lead when Lee Ebanks chipped the stranded Brett Wilson in the Pac goal from distance. The second equaliser came when Fad keeper Jamie Wake unfortunately miskicked his attempted clearance and this led to an easy chance for David Bonhomme to secure a vital point for Pac Builders.

Ship took advantage of rivals Vets Reunited being on cup duty to go clear at the top of the A division with a 3-0 victory over Jolly Steward. Michael Davison gave a sterling performance at the heart of the Jolly defence but goals from Pheras Ismail, Jason Pease and Nick Quinn saw Ship home to a comfortable victory.

Caledonian Athletic are having a good season in the A division and a hat trick apiece for Chris Scott and Tony Tatum plus a single for Andrew Harrison saw them move up to third in the league as they completed a 7-0 victory over Prince Edward Pirates.
