An amazing Sandford Goudie cup tie saw A division sides Top Club and Prince of Wales Perth Green share 10 goals before having to go to penalties to decide the winner. Star man for Top Club was Nick Watson who bagged a hat trick, Glen Chapman and substitute Steve Foster got the Club?s other goals. Two goals from Paul Brown and singles from Paul Gallant, Gary Dodd and Phil Mullen for Perth Green left the sides level at 5-5 after extra time. It was Top Club who held their nerve better in a very tense penalty shoot out as they went through 3-1.

Another exciting cup tie was the all premiership clash between Whiteleas and Elmfield SC. Simon Traynor?s hat trick for Whiteleas proved to be the clincher as Leas went through 4-3. David Myers was the other Leas scorer with Craig Armstrong (2) and Steve Gorman replying for Elmfield SC.

Ellison eased there way to the next round with a convincing 5-0 win over Boldon Wheatsheaf. Ellison were two up with in 20 minutes, firstly through a good strike from Craig Snowball and then a glancing header from defender Gary Taylor. Boldon battled hard in the second half but could not find a way past the Ellison defence, they were then hit with a further 3 goals from Mark Pearson and a double strike from Stuart Lane which saw Ellison through.

On the league front the two Premiership games played were very close indeed. Firstly Jarrow Deneside and Marsden CW shared six goals to take a point apiece. On the mark for Deneside were Lee Buglass, Peter Kane and David Stephenson. Two goals from Dan Nixon and another from Chris Pounder earned Marsden the point.

In the other game Nook Utd just nudged out Pac Builders in a 3-2 thriller. Mark Hodgson (2) and Steve Dodd were on the mark for Nook, whilst Phil Dolphin and Mark Hill replied for Pac Builders.
