Week 8

It was a quiet week in the South Liverpool Junior League with the Under 16 teams playing in the County Cup. In the Under 12 division Litherland Remyca Devils came from behind to beat Litho 3-1. Litho deservedly took the lead and continued to cause problems for the Devils throughout the first half. After the break Remyca Devils started to compete and an equalising goal from Ryan Cameron got them back in the game before a great through ball to Ryan Cameron allowed him to lob the goalkeeper just on the edge of the box into the far corner, for a spectacular finish. Max Duggan then scored the third goal to put the game beyond Litho with only a couple of minutes left to play. Club Sports continued their good start to the League with a 7-0 win over Gilmour with Declan Ferguson netting five of them! Ben Comaish and Cameron McIntyre scored the other goals.

In the Under 13 division Run Corn Linnets are top after beating Marshalls Barkhill 4-2. Jorge Dwyer (2), Leon Duckers and Joe McNamee scored for Linnets and Barkhills goals came from Ciaron Delaney and Ethan Wall.

Marshalls Rosemont remain unbeaten at the top of the Under 14 division after beating Finn Harps 7-0. Kieran Flemming netted a hat trick with Anthony Dodson and Lucas Garbe grabbing two apiece. Runcorn Linnets edged out Matthiola 3-2 and Mac Northstar beat Prescot Rangers 4-2 thanks to two goals from Francis Pattie and one each from Charley Welch and the divisions top scorer Dylan Jeffery.

In the Under 15 division reigning champions Gateacre are joint top after a 4-1 win over Chelwood Tarways. Their goals came from Jack Cooper, Salim Djabi, Rio Duhaney, Cole Fowlis. Prescot Rangers (two from Luke Barton and one from Luke Daly) beat Chelwood Spartans 3-0. The Woolton derby between Sharks and Vikings ended all square at 1-1. Vikings struck first through Joe Davenport before a first time swerving strike from Liam Anderson left the honours even. Elsewhere Marshalls (two from Jake McKettrick and one each from Ryan Hollinsworth, David McDonnell and George O’Hare) beat Bleak Hill Rovers 5-2.

South Liverpool teams in the County Cup had mixed fortunes with Rosemont going out on penalties to Rainhill Rockets, Kingsley Utd beating Breeze 2-0 and Kingsthorne being edged out 4-3 by Maghull Youth. Whiston and Finn Harps clash saw Whiston going through 2-0 and Geneva beat Great Crosby 4-0 thanks to goals from Luke Fenney, Liam Bott, Danny Nolan and Alex Jones.
