Week 9

Another truncated programme in the South Liverpool Junior League saw Runcorn Linnets remain top of the Under 13 division after a Jack Rogers goal saw them edge out Marshalls. Woolton Power had an easier time against Chelwood Athletico running out 7-0 winners. Joe Ponzini scored the opener and Patrick Craig followed up before the break. After the restart Power grabbed another when Sean Smallwood converted. Inevitably the prolific William Lawrence added his name to the score sheet before Joe Ponzini grabbed his second with a powerful finish. Further goals came from Carl Furlong and Daniel Meir. Elsewhere Kingsley Utd beat Marshalls Barkhill 3-1.

Marshalls Rosemont remain unbeaten at the top of the Under 14 division after a 3-1 win over Prescot Rangers. Their goals came from Jack Cunningham, Kieran Flemming and Fraser Spencer. Runcorn Linnets beat Finn Harps 5-0 and Mac Northstar thrashed Chelwood Westwood 11-1 thanks to hat tricks from Harry Cassidy and Liam Kearns Quinn, braces from the divisions top scorer Dylan Jeffery and Francis Pattie and a Stephen Shaba strike. Elsewhere Matthiola beat Marshalls Vale 6-0 thanks to goals from Carter Burke, Sam Littler, Charlie McCurrie, Tom Parkinson, Jude Ratcliffe and Max Weston.

Two teams share top spot in the Under 15 division. Matthiola beat Chelwood Tarways 9-0 thanks to four goals from Issacc Sharples, a hat trick from the divisions top scorer Luke Sutton and strikes from Amir Hajri and Charlie Tannant. Gateacre are also joint top but their unbeaten record was under threat as Woolton Vikings raced into a two goal lead thanks to goals from Daniel Fisher and Tom White but they fought back and two goals from Ian Dembele and a Luke Livingstone strike saw them win the game 3-2. Prescot Rangers made it four games without conceding a goal as they beat Chelwood Rangers 7-0 . Luke Daly netted a hat trick, Luke Barton two and Adam Wright also contributed. Elsewhere Woolton Sharks beat Chelwood Spartans 3-1. The weather helped Sharks score the first as a long range clearance from Tom Wilson took a bounce and loop over the keeper into the net. Sharks edged further ahead when Tom Wilson scored from the goal line. The second half the game was even and Chelwood pulled a late goal back through Alex Curry before Sharks responded and quickly restored their advantage through Nathan Christopher.

Tricorn Hotel are top of the Under 16 division after a 7-1 win over Kingsley Utd. The unbeaten Whiston are chasing hard and thrashed Rosemont 13-2 thanks to goals from Johnny Foy, Harry Nulty (3 each), Josh Nugent (2), Bernard Fowler, Jobo Leonard, Joel Smith, Rory Smith and Louie Williamson. Geneva (two each from Liam Bott and Luke Fenney and an Alex Jones strike) beat Rosemont Athletic 5-1 and Kingsthorne Jaguars ((Kerian Kennedy and John McKeown) drew 2-2 with FC Start
