Dear Manager,

Please find below details of a Futsal opportunity for all players and teams through the summer and close season. This was passed out at the recent League meeting to all Clubs.
It is proposed for Monday evenings to avoid disrupting Club Tournaments or normal training when re-starting.

TAMWORTH JUNIOR LEAGUE CLOSE SEASON PROPOSAL
Do you like five-a-side football, but fancy a bit of a change?

Through The FA Futsal Fives, you now have your chance to take part in the
fastest growing indoor format of small sided football in England. Futsal is different - once you step on the court you will experience a whole new spectacular game!
Don’t worry if you’ve never played Futsal before, or you’re not even sure what it
actually is – The FA Futsal Fives is aimed at offering local opportunities for
players of all standards to experience the game for the first time in a fun league setting.
Similar to five-a-side: all you need is a bunch of mates to form a team and turn up at the right time each week. We’ll sort out the rest and leave you to get on with showing your skills on the court!
The FA considers Futsal to be the premium format of five-a-side football due to the skill-based technical merits that the game helps to nurture and
develop. When the likes of Xavi claim that the game had a significant impact on his development, who are we to argue!
The FA Futsal Fives League Format as proposed by Tamworth Junior League
Run from beginning of May to end of August, on a weekday evening – probably Mondays 6pm to 9pm
Suggested age bands for teams – 6/7yrs, 8/9yrs, 10/11yrs (Development), 12/13yrs, 14/15yrs, 16/17yrs, U18yrs – ages based on season 2015/16
Each team to have maximum of 10 players – if players on holiday then other players can be drafted in, plus flexibility in respect of proving age i.e. bring documents on the night.
Costs likely to involve a £10 team registration fee and then £3 per player per match. Whilst envisaged teams will be TJL based, could be a group of mates, team from outside area.
League formats and number of games would depend on number of teams in each age group, but probably play every other week, with younger age bands playing the earlier time slots.
Matches will be 20 minutes each half on a running clock and FA qualified Futsal referees will officiate each game.
‘In Futsal you are able to see the small details of quality, class and tactical
aspect. I like this game very much.’
