Divisions 2 and 3...

In Division Two, bottom side Hartham Press went in at the break in front after a good move between Jamie Burbury and David Mower saw the latter finish well across the ‘keeper. They almost doubled the lead when they struck the crossbar. Leaders Broadhall Icon woke up and equalised moments after the break when Steve Skinner scored following a corner. Chris Bunker put them in front before substitute Dean Allen made an instant impact by lobbing the ball over the ‘keeper to make it 3-1. This had sandwiched a James Khakpour-Smith shot being blocked on the Icon line by a defender's out-stretched arms, but the referee's line of sight was blocked. They netted again before a long range drive from Liam Mower brought Hartham back to within a goal.

Emperors Head maintained their title challenge with a hard fought win against resolute opponents. In a very even first-half, they took their chances to move into a 3-0 lead with goals from Joe Whittaker, Mark Prophet and Dan Healy. Very much an even second period and Benington reduced the deficit to 3-1. The goal of the game and the one that proved to be the clincher was scored by Mark Pickard, who picked the ball up on the half-way line, drove towards the area, played a neat one-two before finishing from 18 yards. Two late consolation goals made it a nervy finish, but Emperors but they saw the game out 4-3. Louis Gilbert, Ryan Palmer and Sam Ridings were on target for the villagers.

Old Barclavians dominated from the start and Josh Watson was on target, whilst Joe Marshall-Zeal fired the second before half-time. James French scored a third as he crossed with power only for the ball to deflect off the goalkeeper, before Watson then netted with a header and a well taken strike from 20 yards to complete his hat-trick. Crooked Billet Boro pulled one back through Collins Nwanazia, but Luke Hardy finished the rout as he rose and glanced a header past the ‘keeper from a Adam Presland cross.

A blow to JML Plumbing & Heating’s title aspirations saw them go down 3-1 to Roebuck Gate. Dave Morton (two) and Rich Minnis were on target for Gate. Tom Gallagher netted a consolation.

There was a controversial moment at 0-0 on the hour-mark in the sole Division Three game when a previously unbeaten and depleted View Point Wanderers were denied a ‘goal’. A 35 yard free-kick went into the top corner of the goal via the ‘keepers fingertips, but through a gaping hole in the net, resulting in the decision of a corner for the referee, who also sent one of their players off later on. Proverbial United should’ve been in front already, but took full advantage and began by holding the ball for long periods with simple passing between the defence and midfield, but rarely penetrating the defence. Wanderers almost took the lead, but Steve Peary saved a one-on-one. The attacking prowess of Sam Stephenson was to be the key as he ran riot through the heart of the defence. A floated cross from the left found Benn Evans unmarked to coolly slot home the opener. Stephenson then tricked and dribbled his way through four players to fire into the top corner. The Viewpoint ‘keeper kept them in the game with a string of saves to deny Jamie Campany and Josh Stock. Stephenson then rounded the ‘keeper, squared the ball to Stock, who somehow managed to scoop the ball over the crossbar from a couple of yards out. Stephenson finally finished the game off with a delicate chip over the advancing ‘keeper to make it 3-0 and keep them unbeaten, whilst closing the gap on the leaders.
