League Frustration With Boro...
The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League is becoming increasingly frustrated with the battle to play its finals at the local home of football, The Lamex Stadium, writes Darren Statto Jones (statto@cssfl.info, www.cssfl.info).
With Stevenage FCs play-off hopes practically over for the first time in many years, there were high hopes at having some success in booking it up for the six finals. However, despite months of dialogue with a very helpful new Club Secretary, theyre still reluctant to commit to any dates, which is not helping.
Despite stressing the time constraints involved, theyve indicated they have other games to schedule and priority is with Youth football and not Adult.
There are over 1,200 players registered with the league, a large majority of who follow the fortunes of the local team, so its a big disappointment to say the least.
Hitchin Town FC have once again come to the rescue and offered dates and its likely the first couple will be held there on Sunday 21st April.
On the field, Easter Sunday saw just one game played
