Summary of the action from Week 9 of NTU's Serie 6-a-side competition

Week 9 of the SERIE 6-a-side was the week when all the teams should have been levelled out at 9 games played a piece with six games being played on the day.

However, the Great Clifton Gas Mains Breach of 2014 saw students unable to get on campus ready for their kick offs, and only two competitive games take place. The pitch was put to good use though as Borussia Teeth brought a horde down to pitch to play a 9-a-side game with Le Saux Solid Crew at 4pm, with Le Saux following this up with a 2-1 friendly defeat against Globo Gym Purple Cobras.

The upshot of the uncompleted games was that Le Saux, Globo Gym and And The Winners Are... all picked up three points without kicking a ball and the And The Winners Are vs Borussia Teeth clash being moved back two weeks to be played on 31st January.

In the first of the two competative games Barlows Big Boys picked up three valuable as they moved away from the bottom of the table with a 3-2 victory over Schneefers. It was then the turn of new side Portugeezers to make their debut, losing 3-1 to a Tekkeslovakia team that have rediscovered their form from the beginning of the season.

The final note of the day was the withdrawlal from the league of 2 Goals 1 Cup, who have been struggling to field a side in recent weeks. As yet no team has taken their place, so the league will continue in an 11 team format...
