Summary of the action from Week 14 of the LIGA 11-A-Side Leagues

Week 14 of the LIGA 11-a-side league saw seven games played with league titles and Cup/Plate qualification places at stake in every, and none of the were quiet or uneventful...

Despite LIGA A's title having been wrapped up by Quantity Surville last week the two games played in the league still lacked nothing for passion or intensity. ACS played Mathematic Bilbao knowing that a win would all but secure place in the NTU Cup, whilst Maths needed at least a point to avoid relegation to LIGA B next season. The Maths cause was aided by an extremely low initial turn out from ACS who were forced to kick off with only 7 outfield players and an injured keeper, leaving them 5-1 down after 30 minutes. However, late arrivals saw them rally impressively in the second half, but too much of a gap had already been built by Maths, with the game ending 7-5 in their favour. The second LIGA A game of the day saw the much anticipated BSOC derby between the All Stars and the Bulldogs. Both teams had impressed in their respective Pre-LIGA's, finishing this phase undefeated. However, since the start of LIGA A the Bulldogz have impressed the most, being in with a shot at the title until their first defeat of the season at the hands of Quantity Surville last week. It was the All Stars who came out on top in this head to head though, racing into an early 2-0 lead and standing firm in the second half to finish their league season with a moral boosting 3-1 derby victory.

In LIGA B Red Stripe Belgrade picked up their first win in five games with a 3-2 victory over Average Joe's, whilst Table Tennis played their part in keeping their title hopes alive with a 3-0 win over Bayer Lexerksuen to extend their unbeaten run to four games. However, Table Tennis's title hopes were quashed by the result of the final LIGA B game of the day as Kings Of Leon Osman took advantage of early defensive lapses to gain a 3-2 win over FC Futsal and claim the league title.

LIGA C saw a goalfest with 22 goals scored in the two games played in this league. Dynamo Chicken Kiev's improvement continued as they were unlucky to lose 7-5 to Bayer Neverloosen, whilst History Society Football Club claimed the LIGA C title in impressive style, thumping second place AFC Botton 8-2.

Week 15 will see the last league games of the year played. 6 fixtures are scheduled to take place and despite all three league titles having been secured , every game features teams with something to play for.

In LIGA A Mathematic Bilbao and BSOC All Stars currently sit in second and third, but have already played all their games and must wait to see how other teams fare. ACS play champions Quantity Surville knowing that only a win will secure their place in the NTU Cup next season, whilst BSOC Bulldogz play Brack City with not only a place in the Cup rather than Plate, but also relegation to LIGA B at stake.

LIGA B itself also sees two games being played. With the league title and the Cup/Plate split already confirmed its promotion that is at stake, as second place Table Tennis Society play table toppers Kings Of Leon Osman, with FC Futsal knowing that they have to better the Table Tennis result in their game against Bayer Lexerkusen.

In the final LIGA C games of the year AFC Botton will play a Dynamo Chicken Kiev team who finally seem to be settling into the league, whilst Bayer Neverloosen will be looking to take advantage of any slip up by Botton when they face History Society Football Club.
