A round-up of the action from Week 8 of the SERIE 6-A-Side League

The first round of SERIE games following the Easter break saw both leagues hit by dissertation deadlines and upcoming exams, with SERIE B being especially hard hit as 2 Goals 1 Cup and Trent Architects were unfortunately forced to withdraw from the league, and Peverell Plebs were unable to fulfill their fixture against Titus Bramble's Frisky Fingers

With Destiny having a Bye Week, the two scheduled games in SERIE A were for Scoregasm Japan to face Egypt FC and league leaders Defenders Assemble to play Ajax Trees Down. Scoregasm versus Egypt produced a large number of goal, all of which were concentrated into Egypt's net, with Scoregasm running out 10-0 winners at full time. Ajax Tree's Down's match versus Defenders Assemble was ultimately the third games of the day to fall foul to dissertation pressures.

A second game was played though in Week 8 as the two teams left without an opponent, SERIE A's Ajax Trees Down and SERIE B's Titus Brambles Frisky Fingers, met in a Friendly match. Despite coming from the lower league, Titus were able to match Ajax until the last five minutes of the first half, when the SERIE A team were able to score three goals in quick succession. The second half was a much closer affair though as Titus rallied, with each team scoring one goal a piece to leave the final score as 4-1 in Ajax's favour.

Week 9 should see a return to four competitive games. SERIE A sees Egypt FC and Destiny meet with each looking to pick up their first points of the phase and avoid the bottom spot in the league. The second game of the day sees Scoregasm Japan in a must win game against Ajax Trees Down. A win for either will put them three points clear at the top of the league heading into the final week. However, this is Scoregasm's last game of the season, so failure to win will effectively rule them out of the title race.

In SERIE B Cease Hiders and Peverell Plebs meet, with both teams needing a win to maintain their chances of catching Titus Bramble's Frisky Fingers, who currently lead the league by six points, but have played more games than both Peverell and Cease Hiders.

The final game of Week 9 involves Titus Bramble, as they face Defenders Assemble from SERIE A, as both teams do not have a league game scheduled this week.
