Overview of the action from the Week 5 of NTU's 5-a-side BUNDESLIGA

Despite only four of the six scheduled BUNDESLIGA fixtures being played this weekend NTU's 5-a-side league continued to show a high standard of ability from all the teams involved.

The reduction in fixtures was due to Average Joe's 5's mixing up their kick off time and Cunning Stunts being unable to field a team, with the upshot being that Two Balls Are Not Enough and Mill House FC both picked up 3-0 Walkover wins to move up to 5th and 6th in the table respectively.

2.00pm saw the first competitive match of the week unfold as LEX FC moved into third place by virtue of picking up their third straight win in a 4-2 victory over Shelvey Style, whilst Exeter Gently maintained their unbeaten run and their trend of being top at the end of every game week thanks to a 5-1 victory over Gordon House Massive in the 2.30pm game. The 3.00pm game was won by an impressive CC Cosmos, who racked up a 7-1 scorelilne over Muay Thai Fighters to help them move up to fourth in the league. The 3.30pm match had been billed as the game of the day as the second and third placed teams after Round 4, Goldsmiths FC and Sandby FC faced each other. The game itself didn't disappoint, as Goldsmiths came out on the sunny side of a 4-2 scoreline, but they were hugely indebted to their Goalkeeper who pulled off a string of impressive saves, including a treble-save with the score at 3-2.

Next weeks action takes us over the mid point in the season, but as we approach it the top seven teams are separated by just three points meaning no-one can afford to slip up. LEX FC have a chance to put down an early marker in the 1.00pm game against a Gordon House Massive side still looking for it's first win of the year. Any time LEX get at the top of the table could be short lived as Goldsmiths FC face Cunning Stunts at 1.30pm, whilst Two Balls Are Not Enough will be looking to keep pace at the top against Muay Thai Fighters at 2.00pm. The 2.30pm and 3.00pm games could both have huge impact on the top of the table as Exeter Gently meet Sandby FC and Millhouse FC play CC Cosmos, with the weeks action being rounded out as Average Joe's 5's and Shelvey Style meet at 3.30pm, with both teams looking to return to winning ways.
