Week 13 Bundesliga Team Of the Week Sapphic United

Summary of the action from Week 13 of NTU's Bundesliga 5-A-Side competition

Ten fixtures took place in Week 13 of the Bundesliga, with the two games that failed to go ahead both involving teams from the top of each league. In the Bundesliga Inter de Nott picked up three points as Baines On Toast were unable to field a team against them, whilst in 2. Bundesliga Ivory Toast were forced to conceed three points to Bigshot United.

With Ivory Toast being unable to compete other 2. Bundesliga sides took the oppertunity to draw level at the top. AFC Game, Set & Snatch won 9-4 against Surreal Madid to move up to second, Pass To Stephen got themselves off the mark with a 3-0 victory against Fat Bagz, before the big game of the day between Sapphic United and Inter Mi-Nan. Inter had the chance to pull three points clear at the top with a win. However, it was Sapphich who ended the week as the 2. Bundelsiga winners as they picked up a comprehensive 9-0 win.

The Bundesliga games started with a bang and a huge upset as last year's runners up LEX FC, who have been floating around mid-table all season, won 10-0 against fourth placed 5 Elite. ASE FC followed this up with a comprehensive 3-0 win over an understrength CYPS which kept them within two points of Inter de Nott at the top of the league.

The leagues two most unpredictable teams, Ay Bird FC and NTU ISOC played at 3pm with Ay Bird putting in a good burst of form to win 7-2 over ISOC. Debutants Ginellies opened their account in the league with a 5-0 win over old boys Exeter Gently, before CC Cosmos kept their title challenge rolling with a 5-2 defeat of Cheers United.

Always On Top picked up a 7-2 win in the penultimate game of the day as they beat The Chaps, before Token Hotspur got their first win of the season in the last match of the day, beating Harpins Boys 4-3.

Week 13's Team Of The Week Award goes to Sapphic United, as their 9-0 win over fellow title challengers Inter Mi-Nan moved them to the top of the 2. Bundesliga.

Week 14 promises to be a decisive one for teams at the top of both leagues. In 2. Bundesliga a win for Bigshot United over AFC Game, Set & Snatch could move them level at the top of the league. But it is in the Bundesliga itself that the big games of the day take place as the top six play each other. CYPS meet Always On Top with both knowing defeat would effectively end their slim title hope. The same goes for 5 Elite who play the goal machine that is ASE FC, with the latter hoping to take advantage of the top billed game of the day where third placed CC Cosmos will try to knock leaders Inter de Nott off their perch at the top of the table.
