Overview of the action from the Week 8 of NTU's 5-a-side BUNDESLIGA

With a number of teams having players who had already returned home for the Easter break, Week 8 of the BUNDESLIGA allowed teams that had been unable to fulfill fixtures earlier in the season the chance to catch up on these games.

With the Gordon House Old Boys Game between Gordon House Massive and Muay Thai Fighters being played last week four games were scheduled for Week 8, with each involving teams from the top seven of the table. 1.30 saw fourth vs third as CC Cosmos played LEX FC in a game rearranged from Week 3. In an extremely close game filled with chances for both sides, LEX were able edge the result 2-1 in their favour. The second game of the day also featured LEX, this time against table toppers Exeter Gently. LEX showed no signs of any ill effects from having already played a match as they impressively won 4-2 in a match that also featured one of the most bizarre own ever goals scored thanks to LEX Vice-Captain Darius Golshekan.

2.30 saw seventh placed Two Balls Are Not Enough take on a Goldsmiths team currently riding high in second. Though Goldsmith's ultimately ran out 4-0 winners, the score was 0-0 till early in the second half and showed the improvements Two Balls have made over the season so far, given that they lost their first game 7-0 to Exeter Gently.

Two Balls also featured in the 3.00 game, this time against 5th placed Mill House. However, this game was suspended towards the end of the first half after the one and only match ball disappeared into one of the air conditioning units, never to be seen again! The game will now be rearranged for 21st April.

The league now goes into a three week break over the Easter period, with LEX FC topping the table for the first time this season thanks to their two wins in Week 8. Week 9 will see them look to maintain their lead when they face Muay Thai Fighters, whilst Goldsmiths, Exeter Gently and Mill House will be looking to capitalise on any LEX slip up when the meet Shelvey Style, Average Joe's & Gordon House Massive respectively. The final two fixtures of the day both feature Sandby FC who will be looking to move back into title contention when they meet fellow high flyers CC Cosmos and Two Balls Are Not Enough.
