Overview of the action from the Week 11 of NTU's 5-a-side BUNDESLIGA

The final week of BUNDESLIGA games promised high drama an it certainly delivered. The day started low key as Average Joe's vs Shelvey Style & Gordon House Massive vs Sandby both ended in 3-3 draws which saw all four teams unable to change their positions int he table.

The two o'clock kick off brought goals galore as CC Cosmos ended the season with a bang, hammering Two Balls Are Not Enough 12-3 and moving themselves up to fourth in the table.

Muay Thai Fighters recent up turn of form saw them unable to get the win they needed to claim a top half finish, but they pushed Exeter Gently all the way in a 4-3 defeat that saw Exeter cement their third place in the table.

Three o'clock saw Two Balls Are Not Enough back in action, this time against Mill House. Two Balls bounced back impressively from their earlier mauling by CC Cosmos to gain an impressive 5-5 draw with Mill House, who had been in the title hunt until Week 10's loss to LEX.

The last game of the day brought the anticipated title playoff between Goldsmiths and LEX. Goldsmiths went into the game trailing by two points meaning that a draw or win for LEX would hand them the title. Goldsmiths raced into a 2-0 lead early on only for LEX to drag themselves back into the game at the end of the half, going into halftime level at 2-2. The second half was all Goldsmiths though as they added two further goals to finish 4-2 winners and league champions.

Congratulations to Goldsmiths and all the teams who took part in the first ever NTU BUNDESLIGA 5-a-side league. The standard was high throughout the season with the top five teams being separated by just five points at the end of the season and the top three by only two.

Next year's season sees the action move into the new Byron facility which is being opened over the summer. We hope that we'll see you there...
