The plan for this competition

Under SCORY there are restrictions over the length of time a tournament at certain ages can span. U7 is a mere 2 weeks. There is also a restriction on the total amount of minutes (60) an U7 can play in tournament football in a day.

Therefore, to accommodate the 15 teams we currently have we have to be a little creative. The plan requires clubs to act as a central venue host for a number of games in week 1. Our thanks to Kibworth Town, Rugby Town, Epworth Forest and Hinckley Borough for hosting. Some hosts are able to provide referees for all the games but where this is not the case please can you arrange for clubs to provide referees as equitably as possible.

Where there are 4 teams in the group, each game will be 20 minutes (10 min each way). Where there are 3 teams in a group, the games will be 30 minutes (15 min each way).

The winners of each group will progress to the cup semi-finals in week 2. Runners-up will enter a shield competition. 3rd place teams will enter the plate competition. So if two teams are equal on points after the games, please determine the order with a penalty shoot-out (best of 3 followed by sudden death if necessary). NB. Goal difference plays no part in deciding positions.

The finals Sunday on 13/3 (most teams will be competing) will be hosted at Coalville. The winners of the semi-finals progress to the final; losers to a 3rd / 4th place play-off. Further details will be sent to all teams following the games on 6/3.
