Weston Town 1 Winscombe 0

Winscombe started the match strongly with Billy Berry having a seemingly goalbound effort saved and Toby Chambers also had a shot well saved by the Weston Town keeper. Jai Nevison and George Fairchild competed well in central midfield with Jack Drake battling well on the right flank. On the other flank Matthew Gilmore was his usual energetic self and he broke through only to see his shot go just wide. The Winscombe defence of Theo Thornton-Matthews, Piers Langford, James Ford and Will Shergold looked very organised when Town pushed forwards. George Fairchild had a shot from range saved by Weston Town's in form goalie and at the other end Winscombe keeper Ben Meakin did well to deny Weston Town striker Sam White. Weston Town started to put Winscombe under pressure just before the break with a fine effort going just over the bar. Unfortunately for Winscombe a goal kick was not cleared and Weston Town gained possesion and neatly chipped the Winscombe keeper on the stroke of half time.
Winscombe introduced Toby Willcock and Max Bretherton in the second half to try and mix things up a bit but the Weston Town defence looked very solid. Very few clear chances arose until Winscombe were forced to throw players forwards and almost got caught out at the back if it wasn't for man of the match Will Shergold being his usual rock in defence. Winscombe would like to thank Weston Town for their hospitality and wish them luck in the next round.
