O.E.s open ten point gap at the top of the Premier Division

Premier Division leaders Old Elizabethans remain unbeaten after defeating
Southwell St Marys 4 – 2. Callum Wilkinson claimed a double with James Prentice and
Marc Jewsbury completing the tally. Goals from Trent Vineyard’s Matt Lake and
Darren Meli were answered by five from reigning Champions Ilkeston Rutland who are starting to come strong after suffering close season problems. Steelers remain at the foot of the Table after they were pipped 2 – 1 by Wollaton III with Richard Langhorne netting for Steelers. Woodborough United were leading 2 – 0 at half time thanks to a double from former long standing goalkeeper Sean Reddington but opponents Beeston OBA struck back to earn a 2 – 2 draw. Goals from Craig Howkins, Jordan Campbell and Tony Meads proved insufficient to prevent a 5 – 3 defeat by Bulwell Town for Beeston AFC II who are now sit next from bottom whilst Bulwell climbed to second spot. A Frazer White double and goals from Rory and Scott McCardle for Bassingfield paved the way for a 4 – 2 victory over Coronation who are in the process of rebuilding after losing players prior to the start of the season. Carl Gould and Tom Moult contributed goals for Coro’ to pruce a fine game.
Radcliffe Olympic III went down 4 – 1 to Rainworth Rangers whose goals were parceled out between Khyle Sargent, Graham Beavis, Reece Burridge and George Evans.

The leading four teams in Division 1 all won, leaving Old Elizabethans II in top spot following their 5 – 2 defeat of Ravenshead. Jordan Phillips and Steve Pidding netted for Ravenshead whilst Liam Starbuck, Tom Patterson, Tom King and Lewis Ashford replied for O.E.s. Mansfield Hosiery Mills trail the Leaders by a solitary point after defeating
BAFC Vine 3 – 1, whose consolation goal came from Paul Middleton, whilst
FC Sutton Foresters, 7 – 1 victors over Ashfield FC, are a point behind Mills in third place. Cane Collins replied for Ashfield who were hit by a Kieron Harris double and goals from Aiden Harris, Dave Gibson, Sam Binch, Dan Fisher and Nick Barsby. NRU FC are level on points with Foresters after pipping Magdala Amateurs A 3 – 2 with Alex Cale,
Barney Watson and George Clarke their marksmen. The same scoreline provided
Wollaton IV with the points at the expense of Bilborough Town Academy.

Rainworth Rangers II top Division 2 by a solitary point after defeating Southwell St Marys II 6 – 1. Both Lee Allison and Matt Higgins netted hat-tricks whilst Ben Sharratt and
Ryan Martin completed the tally. Second placed Alvaston United had a much closer encounter when they overcame Ilkeston Rutland II 3 – 2 with Neil Ainslie, Tommy Rutter, and John Rimmer their marksmen, whilst Rutland’s reply came from a Craig Chaplin double.
Sutton Travellers netted seven goals without reply from Ashfield II who languish at the foot of the table. Another team still to claim their first point are Town Mill who went down 4 – 2 to Woodbeck Diagonals. The ‘marksman of the day’ award goes to Ashley Chadwick whose four goals proved the difference when his side, FC Trinity, defeated Bulwell Town II 6 – 2. Trinity’s other goals came from Kallum Dunn and Liam Black to be answered by a
Reece Knight double for Town.

Goals from Dan Drakeley and Richard Lee together with an own goal saw Broadmeadows through to Round 2 of the Derbys FA Junior Cup with a 3 – 1 victory over
Bargate Rovers Reserves. They will be joined by Derbyshire Amateurs who recorded the same scoreline at the expense of Roe Farm. Derby Deaf, however, failed to reply to three goals from Derby Rolls Royce Leisure Reserves.
