North Hants May Cup Semi Finals

It will be an all Basingstoke League Final at Long Meadow, Whitchurch on Wednesday 23rd March. Kick Off 7.30 p.m. This comes about following the Semi Finals played last Saturday and it will be Division One Hook playing Tron from Division Two.
It was a hat trick for Tom Davies as Hook proved too strong for Andover League opponents Kings Somborne and they cruised through with a 7-3 win at home. In the 23rd minute a pass from Andy Parker found Davies who went on a 40 yard run and Hook were in front. There was some resistance from the opposition who drew level from a penalty, but Davies converted a spot kick for Hook to see them ahead again at the break.
Pete Silvester took another pass from Parker to make it 3-1 and by the 51st Tim Hearson with a deflected shot added another. Davies converted another penalty for his third hat trick of the season and further goals from Aaron King and Jack McKee saw Hook 7-1 up with still twenty minutes to go and as they took their foot off the gas Somborne scored twice in the final ten minutes.

Tron did not have it easy away to South Wonston Swifts, but are through after beating the Andover team 2-0. Mikey Thomas, called into the starting lineup at the last minute in the place off top goal scorer Ben Nicholls who felt unwell and he gave them a tenth minute lead. He intercepted a poor back pass and although his first effort was blocked by the keeper, he followed up to net. There was nothing on target for the Swifts, while Lorne Howard and Richard Kalwarczyk were both unlucky to see their shots hit the bar. It was in the 56th when Tron extended their lead. A well placed corner kick from Howard and Jonny Ervin beat the keeper with a header at the near post. Both Richard McCoubrie and Darren Hutchins forced good saves from the keeper and Howard also hit the bar from a corner kick. Connor Dawber had an outstanding game in the Tron midfield.
