PROPOSED NEW DEVELOPMENT UNDER 21 DIVISION for Season 24/25
Following a review to better understand the alarming decline of Teams and Players participating in Adult Male 11-sided football, East Lincs Combination League are proposing to introduce a new Development (Under 21) division for the 2024/25 Season. The aim of this new division is to focus upon the progression of youth players with the hope & aspiration that this helps in the development of these players making the sometimes, difficult transition from Youth to Adult football.
We are proposing to establish a new East Lincs Development Division which comprises of Under 21 players only.
To participate the player’s date of birth must be under the age of 21 as at midnight on August 31st in the playing season.
This is a Development Division and will be part of our whole league. Additionally, we propose to include a new Cup competition, ‘ELFC Development Cup’ for the Under 21 teams only to participate in.
The plan is to allow free movement of players between this team and a team in a Higher Division e.g. Lincs League &/or ELFC ‘adult’ Divisions, where appropriate.
All of our teams must comply with all FA/LFA guidelines including Safeguarding policies & qualifications.
Fixtures usually to be played on Sundays, with the possibility of some midweek games occurring at the start &/or end of season, should the need arise. We envisage some flexibility on ko. times for the U21 fixture’s to assist U21 players transition from education to work practises, also to accommodate pitch availability.
