ROBERTS: "Try To Move Forward"
Emily Roberts is keen to see the Wildcats move forward next season.
The forward netted twice in the 4-0 win over Brighton, and was glad to top off a good year at New Ferens Park with victory.
Here's her full views on the game and the future:
Roberts on a fine season at home, topped off with the win over Brighton...
"It's been a good year and an enjoyable one.
"I enjoyed today and it was good to get a win.
"Everybody put in a solid performance and worked as a team, and we actually scored a few goals so it was nice."
Roberts on a fine team move for her first goal...
"I think I actually lost the ball!
"But then Beth (Hepple) did well to pick it up and it was some good one-touch football and we played off each other.
"Everyone did really well and it was really good."
Roberts on the season...
"It's been a long season, and very tiring.
"We had some rough patches but, especially towards the end, we've picked ourselves up and come out with the results that we wanted."
Roberts on building for next season...
"We'll just try to move forward.
"We'll try to finish higher and put in the best performances that we can.
"Hopefully we can work together as a team and finish as best we can.”
Roberts on the final day trip to Watford...
“It is always going to be a hard game against Watford away as they all are in this league but it will be a good challenge and we will go there and try our best.
“Lee (Sanders, general manager of Durham) was saying before the game that we wanted to finish the season with a higher point tally than we got last season.
“We finished with 33 points last season, so three points against Watford would do that so that is our aim.”
