NEWS: Roberts remains a Wildcat!
Durham Women FC are delighted to announce that forward Emily Roberts has agreed a new deal with the club.
Roberts, who joined the club in 2016, has quickly become a fans' favourite after a string of impressive displays at New Ferens Park.
The winger enjoyed a fine 2017/18 campaign too, which saw her pick up the Fans' Player of the Year and joint Players' Player of the Year honours at the end of the season.
She found the net seven times - with her vital strike against Millwall coming second in our Goal of the Season contest.
A popular member of the squad both on and off the pitch, Roberts has now pledged her future to the Wildcats ahead of next season's FA Women's Championship campaign.
Speaking after putting pen to paper,
Roberts said: "It’s really nice to be staying at the club again for another season.
"I’m enjoying my football and it’s a great set of girls who I’m looking forward to progressing further with.”
Manager Lee Sanders added: "It's fantastic that a player of Emily's quality is committing to ourselves.
"She was a player we coveted for a while before she signed and she's been everything we hoped she would be.
"She's scoring more goals and links up incredibly well with Beth Hepple and Zoe Ness, as you can see in some of the goals we've scored this season.
"She's popular with the team and the fans and it's great knowing she's happy and enjoying things at Durham and committing for the future."
Roberts becomes the fourth player to commit her future to the club after Zoe Ness, Nicki Gears and Rachel Lee all agreed new deals.
