CONFIRMED: Roberts Extends Stay

Durham Women are delighted to announce that winger Emily Roberts has extended her stay at the club.

The tricky attacker joined the Wildcats in July 2016 having previously spent time at Notts County, Doncaster Belles and Sheffield.

She quickly became a fans’ favourite with a number of impressive performances on the left flank, and continued that form into the Spring Series - scoring the opening goal in the draw at Watford.

In her year at the club, Roberts has made 20 appearances and netted four times, and now the forward is looking forward to another season at New Ferens Park.

She said: “I'm really happy to commit for the new season.

“I’ve loved playing for Durham and I would like to progress my own performance as well as the teams.

“All the girls are lovely and we all get on really well, and Lee and all the staff do really well to manage everything and keep spirits high.

“I'd love for us to get a top three finish.

“I feel we're growing as a team and getting better and better so it will be great to demonstrate this in our league position.“

Manager Lee Sanders was delighted to see Roberts commit her future to the club.

“Emily has been fantastic for us and it's important moving forward we retain quality players like her,” he said.

“I'm delighted she's committing to staying on with ourselves as we try and better our finishing position from last season.”
