BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Aston Villa (H)

The Wildcats return to New Ferens Park against Aston Villa this weekend - and here's everything you need to know about the big game.

With Durham still in the thick of the promotion race, the visit of the Villans promises to be an entertaining affair with both teams in a rich vein of form.

But who will come out on top this weekend?

From tickets to travel, here's everything you need to know ahead of the game:

THE OPPOSITION

Despite having been in the second tier since its inception in 2014, this season is something of a new start for Aston Villa - with a new manager, home ground and squad ready to tackle the division.

And Gemma Davies' reign at the Villains is starting to gather momentum, with a thumping victory over Sheffield United before the winter break highlighting their credentials.

Davies has a wealth of talent at her disposal, with former Arsenal stopper Sian Rodgers and centre-backs Elisha N'Dow and Jade Richards forming a fearsome defensive unit.

At the other end, meanwhile, Kerri Welsh and the recently re-signed Tasha Baptiste will be a handful. Jodie Hutton - who netted a hat-trick against the Blades - will have to be watched carefully, too.

WE'VE MET BEFORE

The two teams shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw earlier this season, with both sides having golden chances to seal all three points.

But the last time Villa visited New Ferens Park, it was the Wildcats who came out on top - triumphing 3-0.

PRE-MATCH COMMENTS

Ahead of the clash, striker Zoe Ness said: "They'll be very similar to a couple of teams in the league.

"Teams can take points off anyone so it's about us preparing and going into the game as fully prepared as possible."
